Privacy policy

1. Who we are

Loop is an iPhone app for tracking habits and plans. In this policy, "Loop", "we" and "us" mean the company that publishes the app; "you" means the person using it. Questions go to privacy@downloadloop.app.

2. What stays on your device

Everything you create in Loop — the goals you describe, your habits, plans, milestones, completions, streaks, notes and reminder times — is stored in the app's local database on your iPhone. We have no copy of it and no way to read it.

3. Apple Intelligence and on-device processing

Loop requires an iPhone 16 or later that supports Apple Intelligence, running iOS 27. When you describe a goal, Loop passes that text to Apple Intelligence on your device to turn it into a habit or plan. The processing happens on the iPhone. Loop does not send your goal text to its own servers, does not log it, and does not use it to train any model.

If a request cannot be handled on device, Apple may process it through Private Cloud Compute under Apple's own privacy terms. Loop will tell you before that happens, and you can decline and fill in the fields manually instead.

4. iCloud sync

Sync is optional and off until you turn it on. When enabled, your Loop data is stored in your personal iCloud account, in a private database that only your devices can read. It is governed by Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy. We cannot access that database.

5. What we do collect

Product analytics. Loop uses Firebase Analytics, a service provided by Google, to collect a minimal set of usage data: a device identifier, your purchase history within the app, and how you interact with features (product interaction). We use this data solely to understand how Loop is used and to measure conversion — for example, whether a screen or feature leads to a Loop Pro purchase. It never includes your habit names, goal text or notes, which stay on your device as described in section 2.

Diagnostics and crash reports, only if you opt in. These contain device model, iOS version, and technical details of the failure. They never contain habit names, goal text or notes.

Support and waitlist. If you email us or join the waitlist, we keep your email address and message so we can reply and, in the case of the waitlist, send one launch notification. You can unsubscribe or ask us to delete it at any time.

Opting out. If you do not want your usage data collected for analytics, write to hello@downloadloop.app.

6. Purchases

Loop Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment and receives your payment details; we never see them. We receive aggregate sales reporting and a subscription status for your device, and the fact and timing of a purchase is also reflected in the product analytics described in section 5.

7. Who else is involved

Apple, as the platform, the App Store payment processor and the iCloud host. Google, through Firebase Analytics, to process the minimal analytics data described in section 5 on our behalf. An email service provider, if you contacted us or joined the waitlist. Google Analytics also runs on this website, as described in section 8, and only if you allowed it. That is the whole list. We do not sell or share your personal data with anyone else, and the app contains no advertising SDKs and no third-party trackers beyond the analytics described above.

8. This website

This page is part of the Loop website, which is separate from the app. If you allow it in the banner, the site loads Google Analytics to count what the site itself cannot see otherwise: which pages were read, which buttons were used, and the approximate country, browser and device. It is there to tell us whether the site explains Loop well. Google processes that data on our behalf and it writes cookies in your browser; there is nothing here to log into, so it is never tied to a name. Decline and no analytics script loads at all — the site works exactly the same. Your answer is kept in your browser, and clearing this site's data lets you answer again.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR and similar laws you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold, and object to processing. Because your habit data lives on your device, you exercise most of these rights directly: export your data as a file from Settings, or delete it in one action. For the analytics data described in section 5, and for anything else we hold — support emails, waitlist entries — write to privacy@downloadloop.app or hello@downloadloop.app and we will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to your national data protection authority.

10. Children

Loop is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect and update the date at the top of this page.
